Career Highlights: Mason Crosby is starting his fifth season as the kicker for the Super Bowl Champion Green Bay Packers…Known for his strong leg and level head, Crosby, in the first game of the 2010 season, kicked a 56-yard field goal in the last seconds of the first half against Philadelphia, his career long and a Packers franchise record...Picked in the sixth round of the 2007 NFL Draft, Crosby converted all three field goals in his first NFL game, including a 53-yarder and a 42-yarder with two seconds left to beat Philadelphia…Crosby was the first player in NFL history to kick a 50-yard field goal and a game-winning field goal with under a minute remaining in his NFL debut…Crosby was awarded the NFC Special Teams Player of the Month for November 2007…He led all NFL kickers with 54 points and tied for the lead with 12 field goals as the Packers posted a 4-1 mark...He finished the season just three points shy of tying Chicago’s Kevin Butler’s NFL record for points in a season by a rookie kicker (144)...Crosby also set franchise records for points in a season by a kicker, surpassing Ryan Longwell’s 131 points in 2000, and for points by a rookie, joining Chester Marcol (1972), Chris Jacke (1989) and Longwell (1997) as the only kickers in Packers history to score more than 100 points as a rookie...For the 2007 season, Crosby led the NFL with 130 points scored and his 24 field goals ranked first in the NFC...Crosby finished 2007 with the highest-scoring season by a kicker in franchise history and third-highest season point total by any Packers player…In his second season, he played in every game, tied for sixth in the NFC and tied for seventh in the NFL among kickers with 127 points...Crosby also tied for third in the NFC and tied for sixth in the NFL with 17 touchbacks, the most by a Packers kicker since 1972 (Marcol, 28) and since kickoffs were moved back to the 30-yard line in 1994…In 2009, he managed to score 129 points to push his three-year total to 397, an NFL record for a player in his first three seasons and the second-most in the league from 2007-09 behind New England’s Stephen Gostkowski (410)...That scoring total also ranks as the most in franchise history by a kicker for a three-year span and second in the team’s record books for any player, trailing only Paul Hornung, who posted 416 points from 1959-61 as a kicker and running back...Crosby connected on 27-of-36 field goal attempts (75.0 percent) and 48-of-49 PATs while ranking fourth among NFL kickers in scoring and tied for sixth in field goals made...Crosby needed 117 points in 2010 to break Gostkowski’s mark (513) for the most points in a player’s first four seasons, but he fell just four points short with a total of 509…At the University of Colorado, Crosby established a total of 31 game, season and career records, where he holds the all-time records for points scored (307), field goals made (66) and attempted (88), extra points made (109) and attempted (117), field goal percentage (75.0) and longest field goal made (60 yards)...His field goals made, attempted and percentage also set Big 12 Conference career marks...Crosby earned various first-team All-American honors his final two seasons and was a semifinalist for the Lou Groza Award his final three years…In his senior season in 2006, he was an All-American first-team selection by The NFL Draft Report, Pro Football Weekly and the Walter Camp Foundation, adding third-team honors from The Associated Press...Crosby was also an All-Big 12 Conference first-team choice for the third consecutive year, only the seventh player in school history to achieve that honor.
