Career Highlights: A veteran of 17 NFL seasons, Beuerlein led six teams during his career including the Los Angeles Raiders (1988-90), Dallas Cowboys (1991-92), Phoenix/Arizona Cardinals (1993-94), Jacksonville Jaguars (1995), Carolina Panthers (1996-2000) and Denver Broncos (2001-2003)…Before retiring in 2004, he signed a token one-year deal with Carolina, wanting to retire as a Panther…Beuerlein finished his NFL career completing 1,894 of 3,328 passes for 24,046 yards, with 147 touchdown passes, 112 interceptions and a quarterback rating of 80.3…In 2000, he completed 324 of 533 passes for 3,730 yards and 19 touchdowns with Carolina…His best season came in 1999 when he led the NFL in completions and was selected to his first Pro Bowl…While with the Arizona Cardinals, Beuerlein set a team record for completion percentage (61.7) in 1993…The following year he had a string of 97 straight passes without an interception…Beuerlein was traded to the Cowboys from the Raiders in 1991…He replaced injured Troy Aikman and led the Cowboys to their first playoff berth since 1985…A four-year starter at Notre Dame, Beuerlein held nearly every Notre Dame passing and total offense record at the time of his graduation in 1987…. He joined CBS Sports as a game analyst in 2004.
