Career Highlights: Emmy Award-winning actor Brian Baumgartner plays Kevin Malone on the NBC hit comedy “The Office”…Baumgartner and his “Office” cast mates earned Screen Actors Guilds in both 2007 and 2008 and were nominated in 2009 and 2010…Baumgartner started his acting career in the theater playing a series of emotionally-charged characters on Midwestern stages for years…After earning a fine arts degree in acting in 1995 from Southern Methodist University in Dallas, he moved to Minneapolis and along with two other SMU graduates co-founded and ran the Hidden Theatre…The Theatre’s first offering was Athol Fugard’s “People Are Living There,” a tale of loneliness in South Africa…A year late, the company expanded by tackling John Steinbeck’s “Of Mice and Men” followed by four years of challenging complex productions including “The Crackwalker” and “Curse of the Starving Class”…Baumgartner became a notable figures in the Twin Cities’ theater reviews and in 1998 began a run of the one-man show “Rum and Vodka”…He followed this with a one-man comedy show showing his ability to thrive in either drama or comedy…During those years he received multiple awards for artistic and acting excellence…In 2000, he moved to Los Angeles and made several guest appearances on shows such as “Jake in Progress,” “Arrested Development,” “Everwood,” “CSI: Crime Scene Investigation,” and “LAX”…Baumgartner moved to the big screen in 2007 with his “Office” colleagues John Krasinski, Angela Kinsey and Mindy Kaling, appearing together in the romantic comedy “License to Wed” starring Robin Williams and Mandy Moore…Baumgartner also appeared in the comedy “Four Christmases” with Vince Vaughn and Reese Whitherspoon and the independent drama film “Into Temptation”….Other recent film credits include: “Dirty Girl,” “The Last Push,” and the soon-to-be-released “House of Good and Evil” this fall.
