Career Highlights: Maury Povich is in his 11th season as host of his own nationally- syndicated hit talk-show “Maury”…A veteran of more than 40 years of television journalism, Povich was the original host of the highly acclaimed, nationally syndicated series, “A Current Affair,” which aired from 1986-1990, and paved the way for the newsmagazines shows on all the networks…He then moved on to host Paramount’s “The Maury Povich Show” from 1991 to 1998, followed by his current hit “Maury”…Povich has worked as a news anchor and talk show host for WMAG in Chicago, KNXT (now KCBS) in Los Angeles, KGO in San Francisco and KYW in Philadelphia…He also served as a news anchor of WTTG in Washington, D.C. and host of “Panorama,” a mid-day talk show in Washington, D.C.…Both of these programs received Emmy Awards…Povich also won an individual Emmy Award for Best Co-Anchor…Povich served two consecutive terms as president of the New York Chapter of the National Television Academy…He received the prestigious Governor’s Award from the New York Chapter of the National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences, recognizing individuals whose achievements in the television industry are exemplary…Povich heads Mo Po Entertainment, which produces original programming content and won and Academy Award in 2003 for Best Documentary Short, “Twin Towers,” of which Povich was an executive producer… In 2006, he co-hosted a short-lived weekend news show on MSNBC with his wife, news anchor Connie Chung titled “Weekends with Maury & Connie”…In 2007, Povich and Chung launched a newspaper in Flathead Valley, Montana where they own a home…The “Flathead Beacon” is available online daily and 50,000 copies are printed and distributed weekly…His father was Shirley Povich, the legendary Washington Post sports columnist, who worked at the newspaper for more than 75 years…Povich has played in all 20 Celebrity Golf Championships at Edgewood Tahoe (1990 – 2009).
