Career Highlights: One of Hollywood’s busiest character actors, Anthony Anderson had a supporting role in the 2006 Best Picture Academy Award-winning film “The Departed”…He also starred in the live-action hit-film “Transformers,” based on the 1980s cartoon and rumored to be in the just released “Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen” …Anderson received critically-acclaimed reviews for his role as criminal Antwon Mitchell in the FX television series “The Shield”…He joined the cast of “Law and Order” in the spring of 2008 after a regular television role in the FOX police drama K-Ville…In “Law and Order” he plays the role of Kevin Bernard, a policeman fresh from Internal Affairs…In 2007, Anderson was also a stand-out emcee on a number of episodes of “It’s Showtime at the Apollo”… Anderson’s other film credits include “King’s Ransom,” “Hustle and Flow,” “Romeo Must Die,” “Scary Movie 3,” “Scary Movie 4,” “Kangaroo Jack,” “Hoodwinked” and “Barbershop”…Anderson has won awards and recognition for his roles including the 2005 Black Movie Award for Outstanding Performance by an Actor in a Supporting Role for “Hustle & Flow” and the 2001 Rising Star Award…Anderson created and starred in the WB Network show “All About the Anderson’s,” which is loosely based on his life … His first regular acting role was on the NBC series “Hang Time”…Anderson’s earlier roles also included guest stints on “NYPD Blue,” “J.A.G.” and “Ally McBeal”…Anderson attended the Los Angeles High School for the Performing Arts and also studied arts at Howard University.
