The Lake Tahoe Celebrity Amateur Tournament at Edgewood Tahoe.

We’d like to invite you and your organization to join in the most prestigious event in Celebrity Golf. The 22nd Anniversary American Century Championship, held on the shores of Lake Tahoe at Edgewood Tahoe Golf Course, will take place July 12th through the 17th, 2011.

This tournament, with its $600,000 purse and live weekend telecasts by NBC Sports, draws a field of sports and entertainment stars unmatched in celebrity sports. Regular participants include Michael Jordan, John Elway, Charles Barkley, Mario Lemieux and over 80 other sports and entertainment luminaries.

A highlight of the week of festivities is the Lake Tahoe Celebrity Amateur Tournament, held on Tuesday, July 12th. The best ball Stableford scoring event partners four amateurs with a celebrity from the field of stars in a test over Edgewood’s tournament tough layout.

A limited number of amateur spaces are available. More than just a round of golf, the package includes an exclusive breakfast for participants, a gift bag valued at over $250, and an awards luncheon following play. Players also receive a plaque mounted souvenir photo of their group and two passes good for entry to the tournament for the rest of the week.

This event has been created due to the overwhelming popularity of the event and is priced this year at $2,000 per player, with a special rate of $7,000 per foursome.

Some of the celebrities that participated in 2010 included Billy Joe Tolliver, Marshall Faulk and Joe Theismann. Others will be added as the field firms up in the spring.
