Career Highlights:  Regarded as one of the NFL’s most productive receivers, Keenan McCardell became the 13^th player in league history to record 800 receptions (currently has 883)…A 17-year NFL veteran, McCardell spent last season with the Washington Redskins and three seasons prior to that with the San Diego Chargers…McCardell is the only players to make the playoffs with five different teams….During the 2005-06 season, he was San Diego’s second-leading receiver with 70 catches and nine touchdowns (the most in his career)... McCardell was acquired by the Chargers in a trade with the Buccaneers in October 2004…He was named a team captain with the Buccaneers prior to the start of his first season with Tampa Bay in 2002…He helped lead Tampa Bay to a victory over Oakland in Super Bowl XXXVII (2003)…McCardell caught two passes, both for touchdowns in that game…He became the 17^th player all-time to reach 700 career receptions at Jacksonville (11/30) in 2003…He has 883 career receptions for 11,373 yards and 63 touchdowns….He reached 1,000 receiving yards five times in his career…In eight of his last 11 seasons, has caught at least 60 passes in a single season…McCardell was named to the Pro Bowl two times (1996 and 2003)…He signed by Tampa Bay in June 2002 after playing the previous six seasons with Jacksonville…While with Jacksonville, the McCardell-Jimmy Smith tandem had 1,061 receptions from 1996-2001, more than any other duo in NFL history over a six-year span…He played four seasons with the Cleveland Browns (1992-95)…McCardell was honored with the 1997 “Unsung Hero” award by the NFL Players Association…While in college at the University of Nevada-Las Vegas, he was the leading receiver in school history with 141 catches for 2,189 yards and 15 touchdowns.
