Career Highlights: Recognized as one of the NFL’s young up-and-coming quarterbacks, Jay Cutler begins his third season with the Denver Broncos this fall…Selected by the Broncos with the 11th pick in the 2006 NFL Draft, Cutler had a strong training camp that year and was promoted to second on the Bronco’s quarterback depth chart…In late November of his rookie season, Cutler was promoted to lead the Broncos’ offense…He made his regular season debut with a 23-20 home loss to Seattle, but his second touchdown pass was a memorable 71-yard play to Brandon Marshall, also a rookie, which tied the game 20-20…In his five games played, Cutler had a 2-3 record and went 81 for 137 for 1,001 yards, nine touchdowns, five interceptions and a passer rating of 88.5…He posted the second-highest touchdown percentage and third-highest TD-to-Interception ratio among NFL rookies since 1970 with at least 125 passing attempts…Last season Cutler started all 16 games completing 297 of 467 passes (.636) for 3,497 yards, 20 touchdowns and 14 touchdowns…His 3,497 passing yards ranked as the seventh-best single-season performance in team history…During the off-season, Cutler started the Jay Cutler Foundation, which partnered with Mile High United Way’s Youth Success Initiative to help at-risk youth…Cutler had a storied collegiate career at Vanderbilt University, where he started all 45 career games…His freshman honors include AP first-team freshman All-SEC (2002) and The Sporting News third-team freshman All-American (2002)…As a senior, he completed 273-of-462 passes for 3,073 yards, 21 touchdowns and nine interceptions as he became the first Commodore to win the SEC Offensive Player of the Year since Bob Goodridge in 1967…He was also named First-team All-SEC and a Johnny Unitas Golden Arm Award finalist…Cutler’s Vanderbilt school career records include: total offense (9,953), touchdown passes (59), passing yards (8,697), pass completions (710), pass attempts (1,242) and combined touchdowns (1,242).
