Career Highlights: A four-time Pro Bowler with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Ronde Barber is the identical twin brother of former New York Giants running back, Tiki Barber…An 11-year veteran, he cemented his reputation as one of the NFL’s finest all-around cornerbacks by being named to his fifth career All-Pro Team in 2006 (first team)…He also earned first-team honors in 2001, 2004 and 2005, and second-team honors in 2002…Barbers is the Bucs’ all-time interceptions leader after intercepting his 32nd pass last season (has 33 career interceptions)…He became the first cornerback in NFL history to record at least 20 interceptions and 20 sacks in his career on December 11, 2005 in a game against Carolina…Barber posted a career-high 120 tackles during the 2005 season with five interceptions…He followed those stats with 108 tackles and three interceptions in 2006…On October 22, 2006, playing against the Philadelphia Eagles, Barber tied the record for most interception returns for touchdowns in a game with two… Barber was a key defensive playmaker for the Buccaneers in Super Bowl XXXVII and their championship 48-21 victory over the Oakland Raiders…He has spent his entire career with the Buccaneers…Played college football at the University of Virginia with his brother…Started all 36 Cavalier games and earned All-ACC first-team honors each of three seasons, including two bowl games…Barber graduated with a degree in commerce with a concentration in marketing…He was inducted into the University of Virginia Hall of Fame in 2005…Along with Tiki, was named as a co-chair for 2005 Read Across America Day…Also with Tiki, wrote a children’s book titled “By My Brother’s Side” that was released during the 2004 season…Co-hosted Sunday Sports Extra on Tampa NBC affiliate WFLA for three years (2000, 2002, 2003), which was named Best Sportscast in Florida by the Associated Press while earning a SPJ Award (Society of Professional Journalists) for his role on the show.
