Career Highlights: Maury Povich hosts his own talk show titled “Maury”…A veteran of more than 35 years of television journalism, Povich was the original host of the highly acclaimed, nationally syndicated series, “A Current Affair,” which paved the way for the newsmagazines shows on all the networks…Povich has worked as a news anchor and talk show host for WMAG in Chicago, KNXT (now KCBS) in Los Angeles, KGO in San Francisco and KYW in Philadelphia…He also served as a news anchor of WTTG in Washington, D.C. and host of “Panorama,” a mid-day talk show in Washington, D.C.…Both of these programs received Emmy Awards…He also won an individual Emmy Award for Best Co-Anchor…In 2006, he co-hosted a short-lived weekend news show on MSNBC with his wife, news anchor Connie Chung titled “Weekends with Maury & Connie”…His father was Shirley Povich, the legendary Washington Post sports columnist, who worked at the newspaper for more than 75 years…Povich has become a popular culture icon as he and “Maury” were satirized on television’s South Park episode “Freak Strike”…Povich has played in all the previous 18 Celebrity Golf Championships at Edgewood Tahoe (1990 – 2007).
