Career Highlights: Chris McDonald is best known for playing pompous, arrogant characters such as Shooter McGavin, the professional golfer in Happy Gilmore… McDonald has acted in more than 85 films and numerous television and theater productions… Some of his film credits include Thelma and Louise, Grumpy Old Men, Quiz Show, Flubber, The Faculty, The Perfect Storm, House Arrest, Requim For a Dream, Grease 2, Dirty Work, American Pie 5: The Naked Mile and Spy Kids 2: Island of Lost Dreams… His recent credits include Mad Money, Awake, My Sexiest Year, and Kickin’ It Old Skoll…McDonald was featured as Ward Cleaver in the movie version of Leave It to Beaver and played famous baseball announcer Mel Allen in 61*…He played baseball player Joe DiMaggio in the ESPN original series The Bronx is Burning… In television, along with recurring roles on the television series Family Law, North Shore and Veronica’s Closet, McDonald has also made guest appearances on The Sopranos, Cheers, Riptide, Knight Rider, Home Improvement and Star Trek: The Next Generation…McDonald’s theater credits include the Obie Award-winning musical Nightclub Cantala, Hay Fever, Bouncers and the Los Angeles Theatre Center’s productions of Hamlet, Othello and The Taming of the Shrew…A New York native, McDonald attended undergraduate school at Hobart and William Smith Colleges, and later studied at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art, the London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art, and the Stella Adler Acting Conservatory in New York.
