Tens of thousands of celebrity sports fans and Lake Tahoe vacationers (37,200 to be exact) invaded Edgewood Tahoe last week to be part of the 20th anniversary celebration of the American Century Celebrity Golf Championship.
Millions more watched the drama unfold on ESPN and NBC Sports. And drama it was. A remarkable tournament. But then, IT IS the American Century Championship. Now we see why the media refers to Tahoe Celebrity Golf Week as the Super Bowl of Celebrity Sports.

With a total score of 74 points, former MLB Pitcher Rick Rhoden wins the 2009 American Century Celebrity Golf Championship. This is his 8th celebrity championship, even though he posted a 2 over par round with 4 bogies and only 2 birdies for the day. This is the first time Rhoden has won this tournament in consecutive years. Is this the start of a new streak?
